After the election of Lincoln, South Carolina held a secession convention led by Christopher Memminger
With Memminger being the main author, South Carolina created a document that would be sent to Washington D.C. to announce this secession
This document would be called the “Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union”
It was one of 11 Ordinance of Secessions made leading up to the Civil War. One was made for each state
